The Bank of New Canaan recognizes the importance of protecting the personal privacy rights of all our customers. We realize that our customers entrust us with personal information and it is our policy to maintain our customers’ information in a confidential manner. We, us, and our refers to The Bank of New Canaan and any of our Affiliated Companies as described below.

You and yours refers to our consumer customers with whom we have a continuing relationship through one or more accounts or; consumers who may have applied for a loan (credit) but did not close on, or open, the credit account.

Affiliate(s) and affiliated companies is any entity that controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with another entity.

Consumer reporting agency is a business that makes a practice of collecting consumer information for the purpose of furnishing reports of the collected information to third parties.

Joint Marketing Agreement is an agreement between us and a non-affiliated third party to perform marketing services for us, or another financial institution with which we have a joint marketing agreement to market products or services. Joint Marketing Agreements prohibit the third party’s use of the confidential information we provide for any purpose other than its intended use per the agreement or as permitted by law.

Non-affiliated third party is any person or entity who/that is not an affiliate or a joint employee of any of our affiliated companies.

Non-public personal information includes personally identifiable financial information not generally available from public sources.

The Bank of New Canaan is not responsible for the privacy or security practices employed by these third party sites and we recommend that you review their privacy and security practices before you provide any personal or confidential information.
